Computerworld's reviewer found the KODAK ScanMate Scanner to be a great compact size. It also was found to have more range than other scanners in its class. Set-up, she said, was easy.

The scanner is nicely compact...and easy to set up. Its onboard interface is extremely simple, especially for a business device.

Under the "ease of use" category, the reviewer especially liked the ScanMate Scanner's simplicity – just one button for all scanning needs. The Smart Touch feature, which allows the user to set up to nine different scanning tasks to occur at the touch of a button, was particularly well reviewed.

The reviewer found the 600 dpi resolution to work well for day-to-day scanning needs, and also liked the speed at which the ScanMate Scanner worked. Additionally, the reviewer felt that the software package included with the scanner was of high quality, and respected in the industry.
